Having taught in the Raleigh area most of my career, I have been frustrated at the desparity of resources around our state. Working as a clinician around North Carolina I have met so many amazing students and teachers who are seeking the support and resources our schools and students have in more metropolitan areas. As someone who grew up in a rural area and struggled to find the instruction I needed, I empathize on a very personal level.
Following the shift to online learning during the pandemic, I realized there was a way to close this gap and connect these musicians and educators around our state. The North Carolina Woodwind Collective serves as an opportunity to form a community of like-minded musicians and provide high level private instruction without the barriers of distance. My mission is to get the proper tools in the hands of all students and support our world class music programs across North Carolina.
